We have been on this journey for about 10 years now, although that does not seem even possible now when looking back at it all.
In the beginning we happened to just be a happy little Midwestern family. Friends and family always commented on how put together our family was and that everything seemed so right with us LOL! Little did they all know something was deeply missing from it all. About 15 yrs went past before we dove into finding what was missing.
It has never been about sex or the lack of. Our marriage had been adventurous and full in the bedroom department so that just wasn't even a factor. I know everyone thinks that couple who go searching for something different must have problems in the bedroom.... but we are here to tell you that is not always the situation.
After much searching we discovered we wanted to experience a poly relationship style and I had this deep desire to be owned and collared. Hmmmm this wasn't something that just happened over night and required much communication and laying out of rules and expectations on both parts. In the end it has been so worth all the hard work we both put into this relationship and learning how to get our needs met has been the biggest part of this.
